posted 3-12-12 FLYING SAUCER LAUNCH is scheduled for Friday, March 16, 2012  Actually, It IS Rocket Science! This program is full of COOL HANDS ON ACTIVITIES which will teach the students various concepts relating to Rocketry and Space! Learning and FUN! We will be Constructing Foam Rockets (like "Nerf" Rockets) and charting how varying designs affect flight and distance, constructing Rocket Race Cars will allow us to see Newton's Laws in Action, Having Fun with Polymers (learning about the role polymers play in everyday life and in the Space Program) Solar hands on activities, constructing a model rocket for our Launch Day (last day of program), and more thrown into all of that! This program runs for 5 Sessions on Tuesdays. (7.5 hours total)
Tuition: $79/ student The Deadline for enrollment is Tuesday, Feb. 28th How to Enroll: 1) Send to the school office. We will email all participating with the New Date and Info! FLYING SAUCER WORKSHOP We are very excited about bringing our Flying Saucer workshop to Vaughan ES! Constructing Flying Saucers is not only FUN but will teach students the basics of rocketry as they learn about flight, drag, engines and more. Launch Day is the most exciting part of this program! Parents, Grandparents, friends..everyone is invited to watch our newest "Rocketeers" Launch their Saucers! In addition to being a fun and exciting experience, Launch Day is special in that you can see the "feeling of accomplishment" the students have as their "masterpieces" are no longer just objects, but actually take on a life of their own in flight! Each student will launch twice; once individually and then once in a DRAG RACE with their friends! Five in the AIR at ONE TIME! Students will take home their Flying Saucers after Launch, as they can be Launched many times. We will send you an email, in the event you are not familiar with Launching Rockets on your own, with instructions on how to safely and easily do this! Rocketry is an amazing hobby, so much fun, the whole family is involved, and the learning is never ending as you progress!  Extra Stuff... Achievement Certificates and a goody bag with cool Space "Stuff" will be given to each student on Launch Day. We will also, make a slide show for parents from pictures we take of the students INSIDE THE CLASSROOM AND AT THE LAUNCH! We want you to be able to SEE how much they enjoy the process...from constructing to Launching! WOW! Flying Saucers are SUPER FAST and go SUPER HIGH!  Dates are: Class A - Tuesday Oct 25 (build day)
